Architectural films & photography

For firms who care how their work is remembered

I'm Simon Tingle. I photograph and film architecture.

That's the entire practice — not a department of it. Craft is one person by design. I plan the shoot, I'm on site, I edit, I deliver. No account manager between you and the camera. No second crew arriving on a different day with a different idea of what the building is. Stills and film come from the same eye, the same light, the same visit — so they agree with each other.

15 years on one subject teaches things that don't transfer from other kinds of photography: when a west elevation is worth waiting until October for, when the planting has filled in enough to shoot, which detail a principal actually puts on the cover of the next proposal.

I've worked with Kearns & Mancini, SMPL Design Studio, David Small Designs, & Paul Raff Studio Architects, — several across multiple projects and years. Delivery isn't the end of it. Imagery sitting in a folder isn't worth what you paid for it, so I stay involved in how it gets used: award submissions, press packages, the website, the pitch deck, and licensing to the suppliers and trades who worked on the project — which often recovers a real share of the shoot cost.

If you have a project finishing this year, the best time to talk is before it's finished.
